Historically, we've accepted about 20% of applicants. This number fluctuates slightly for each Accelerator and cycle, but we work to balance selectivity with accessibility. Our goal is to work with as many hardworking and motivated students as we possibly can.
We estimate that the entire application (all 3 parts) will take about 30 minutes to complete. Please keep in mind you can do it all in one sitting (recommended), or you can choose to take a break and return to wherever you left off at a later time.
Video submissions are becoming increasingly common as a job application tool. It's important to us that we give all applicants a holistic review as opposed to relying purely on traditional GPA or written responses. The videos help us to evaluate our applicants in a more meaningful way, and gives students an opportunity to showcase how they think and who they are.
Our team of coaches comes from a wide array of professional and academic backgrounds. Once an Accelerator class is finalized, we review each participant's story and match them with the coach who is most likely to help them thrive over the course of the Accelerator.
We recognize that many underclassmen don't yet have any solid experience or grounding in our current industry offerings (consulting and finance). All we expect is that, if you apply, you have a genuine curiosity about these industries and are excited about the possibility of expanding your horizons. We strongly believe that all of our graduates emerge from the 4-week program feeling far more confident in their career directions.
As a courtesy to other applicants, however, we do ask that you do not apply if you are certain these industries aren't for you.
In the past, ModernGuild has offered a wider array of Accelerator programs. However, we have chosen to double-down on these two industries for now to ensure we're delivering the best possible experience for students and surpassing the expectations of our current company partners. In the future, we certainly hope to introduce more tracks.

In general, all of our programs place an emphasis on fortifying your professional skills (networking, pitching, interviewing, personal branding) as well as expanding your confidence and deepening your knowledge of your industry of choice.
The deadline for all of our summer programs is April 20, 2017. Students will then be notified of their application status no later than May 15 and Accelerators kick off in the first week of June, July and August, depending on what cycle you're accepted into.
Keep in mind, we've designed our summer programming so that it can work flexible around any other responsibilities you may have. We expect that you commit around 5 hours/week to ModernGuild.
Yes. Each company partner has its own requirements, which are always subject to change, but most have some opportunities for international students. We have successfully worked with international students in the past.
Unfortunately, given that our company partners have the final say in hiring decisions, we cannot guarantee a job offer upon completion of an Accelerator. However, our partner companies recruit heavily from our program participants and all graduates are guaranteed an interview - either during a Summer Superday or on campus. To date, we've been able to place upwards of 85% of ModernGuild graduates.
All students who either graduate from one of our Accelerators, or who successfully complete an application, are considered members. This grants you access to our Knowledge Center, which contains a repository of our recorded webinars, videos from around the web that inspire us, professional tips, and exclusive access to all of our upcoming events and workshops.

Absolutely. During your application, you will be asked to rank all of our company partners by preference. If more than 1 company expresses interest in sponsoring you through the Accelerator, we will reference your ranking and, where applicable, give you the option of choosing. It's important to us that you're matched with a company that excites you.
There is no catch! By partnering with leading companies within the industries we serve (consulting and finance), we are able to offer our industry-specific Accelerators at no cost whatsoever to the student. Believe it or not, it's very expensive to recruit on college campuses. By helping reduce the cost-per-hire and expanding the reach of our company partners, we're proud to be in a position to guarantee full scholarships for all students accepted into the program.
We are always looking to diversify and expand our portfolio of company partners. From our perspective, the more companies interested in engaging students through our Accelerators, the more opportunity we have to help students. Currently, we have lead company sponsors (e.g. Deloitte, Citi, Barclays, and Morgan Stanley) who work with us to curate Accelerators for students they choose to sponsor, as well as business-level partners (e.g. Kalypso) who are given the opportunity to hire graduates of any Accelerator.

The application consists of 3 main sections. First, background questions (demographics, academic history, work history and preferences). Second, short answer questions. And third, videos. The short answer and video sections are simply an opportunity for you to showcase your experiences and tell us why you are a good fit for ModernGuild.

Nope, you are not obligated to accept an internship of job offer. However, given the demand for any given Accelerator, we do hope that you will only enroll if you have a sincere interest in working for the sponsoring company. In order to keep things fair, we also ask that all enrolled students abstain from accepting any other job offers until 1 month after the program's completion when interviews are complete.
Eligibility for our Accelerators depends on the demands of our company partners for each given cycle. For the Spring of 2017, we will be focusing heavily on college freshmen/sophomores and students of diverse backgrounds (e.g. women, underrepresented minorities, veterans, LGBTQ). However, we always make sure to keep seats available for wildcards and invite any motivated college student to apply.
Don't worry! Many students are unsure which track is best, especially if they haven't yet had any first-hand experience. We recommend signing up to receive more information on both tracks and reading through the track-specific details for each. If you're still ambivalent, feel free to email us and we'll help you think through the options. You are also more than welcome to apply for both Accelerators, but you will only be allowed to enroll in one.
